Our mission is not to create a Model United Nation competition, but a conference where students will network with professionals and which will serve as a bridge to achieve a global awareness about the work of United Nations and all 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Impact Summit helps students to realize that everybody can lead this world and become a true leader. The Summit always hosts delegates from all over the world and is special in a way that there are no barriers to entry.
Impact Summit Organisation has set a 2025 goal of hosting 100 Impact Summit Conferences all around the world with more than 1 million students attending as delegates. As an organization we want to grow our community of Impact Summit team leaders and by this create a global awareness about our conferences and their goals. We want to increase the education availability in less economically developed countries through our projects and programs and decrease the gender equality gap, by employing same number of males and females to our leadership roles. Collaboration with the United Nations is an essential part of the Vision as well as cooperation with international media all around the world in order to reach people who think that due to lack of opportunities they cannot change things.
The future of quality education in developing countries is established on the Sustainable Development Goals. The conference aims to link SDG 4; quality education and SDG 9; industry, innovation and infrastructure with the ultimate goal of achieving overall development plans, reducing future economic, environmental and social costs thus strengthening economic competitiveness and reducing poverty.
Guided by the three pillars outlined in the SDG number 9, infrastructure, industry and innovation, Impact summit would like to pioneer in bringing change among the young people
both in how they approach the present day challenges as well as how they prepare for future challenges. Innovators will be provided with a safe space to think and innovate in form of an innovation hub. This then means that as impact summit we shall endeavor to facilitate such change so that the young people in Kenya and beyond can be able to find a place where innovation is undisturbed and they can be able to think purely without having a look at the road blocks that hinder innovation and cohesion among the youth. The Kenyan young people have also been misused during political seasons and the impact summit would want to bring light to the fact that if these young people were given a place to attach themselves and be part of the long chains of production, then many of the young jobless Kenyans would not be speaking of challenges when it comes to innovation since there are quite a number of people in that space. Through club interactions, campus visits and constant innovation symposium’s the impact summit Kenya will be keen to create the necessary support pillars so that the impact summit can stand firmly and the Kenyan youth can be able to execute ideas that come to mind, to the later. With Kenya being a developing country and education being one of its most important aspect, the conference will also highlight the importance of restructuring the educational system to achieve quality education.
1. To network - Impact Summit will bring together people from all different geographical areas that share a common discipline or field enabling the participants to broaden their networks.
2. To expand knowledge and find solutions to different problems - With different stakeholders present, participants can anticipate learning new things in their field. These could be new techniques, unpublished data, or learn from thought-leaders in the innovation and industrialization industry.
3. To present your ideas and work - It’s good practice in talking about what you do with a variety of people from similar, related and/or completely different areas of study. Presenting your work at the summit will make you more confident about the work that you do, and give you new perspectives about it. You will have the opportunity to get feedback from speakers who may have never seen it before and may provide new insight.
4. Socialization and the culture factor - Meeting new people with different cultures and dispositions enlightens your way of thinking in your field of study. You will witness some of the many different aspects and solutions which exist on the same issues. You will also have the chance to socialize with your colleagues at coffee breaks, lunches and social activities
Goal 4: Quality education
Achieving inclusive and quality education for all reaffirms the belief that education is one of the most powerful and proven vehicles for sustainable development. This goal aims to ensure that all girls and boys complete free primary and secondary schooling by 2030. It also aims to provide
equal access to affordable vocational training, and to eliminate gender and wealth disparities with the aim of achieving universal access to a quality higher education.
Access to quality education is an avenue for social mobility and reducing inequalities. Education is essential for building the knowledge base we need to tackle critical challenges like gender inequality. Education will help youth prepare for employment in the high-skill jobs of the fourth industrial revolution. And education is a foundation for peaceful societies and effective institutions. Education is essential for sustainable development, but investments in education that are not accompanied by concurrent progress in other aspects of human wellbeing will fall short of enabling all people to realize their full potential in life. Quality education is one of the 17 Global Goals that make up the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. An integrated approach is crucial for progress across the multiple goals.
Goal 9: Industry, innovation, infrastructure
Sustained investment in infrastructure and innovation are crucial drivers of economic growth and development. Investment in infrastructure and innovation are crucial drivers of economic growth and development. With over half the world population now living in cities, mass transport and renewable energy are becoming ever more important, as are the growth of new industries and information and communication technologies.
Technological progress is also key to finding lasting solutions to both economic and environmental challenges, such as providing new jobs and promoting energy efficiency. Promoting sustainable industries, and investing in scientific research and innovation, are all important ways to facilitate sustainable development.
